Practice Challenge was a Huge Success
We extended a challenge to the entire Piano Marvel Community to get as many practice days as possible in the first month of the new year, and you showed up! Thank you to everyone who participated. We wish we could give everyone a prize. We held six drawings. Each one was for the separate clubs that members worked to get into. The largest group was those who practiced for 3 days and included everyone who achieved 3-30 days of practice. The second group achieved 7-30 days of practice, and so on. A Labor of Love
What started out as separate, individual acts of kindness from two of our Piano Marvel Challenge winners, has, over the past two years, expanded to include the entire Piano Marvel Community and has resulted in thousands of dollars being raised to help many in need.
When Keith Robellard and Stacy Hunt both won first place in two different Piano Marvel Challenges in 2022, they both decided they wanted to donate their prize money to someone else in need. That inspired us at Piano Marvel to want to do something similar.
So we decided that the 2022 Christmas Challenge would be the perfect opportunity for members of the Piano Marvel Community to “Play for Change”—earning money through perfecting Christmas pieces to benefit children in Haiti and Mexico.
The results were impressive—over $1,600 were raised and split evenly between an orphanage and school in Haiti, and an after-school program in Mexico.
After hearing from each of these institutions about the wonderful impact those donations made and how grateful they were, we were inspired to do it again! We knew the bar had been set high last year but wanted to see if we could surpass it.
And we did! During the past 2023 Christmas Challenge, we managed to raise an amazing $1963.46! That money, too, was split among the organizations in Haiti and Mexico. But we couldn’t have done it without all of you who participated in this past year’s Christmas Challenge, so THANK YOU! We continue to be amazed with everything you do and accomplish and you are truly an inspiration to us!
Practice For A Purpose
At Piano Marvel, we're all about community. Join us via Zoom for a Play Party--a community-wide event--to help students in Haiti and Mexico.
When you bring people together, you can accomplish amazing things. This has never been more true than during the Piano Marvel Christmas Giving Challenge last year when, with the Piano Marvel Community working together, you collectively earned over $1,600 to go to both a school and an orphanage in Haiti as well as to an after-school program in Mexico.

While each of these three institutions received a little over $500 each, the value of that contribution far surpassed the actual monetary value. Not only does the money go further in these countries, but the director of the after-school music program in Mexico estimated that the $500 they received would help them save $40,000 in the long run, since much of that donation was used to purchase items like dehumidifiers that will help extend the life of their current instruments in their humid climate.
The success of the Christmas Giving Challenge last year—originally inspired by two Piano Marvel Challenge winners last year—inspired us to bring this charitable giving opportunity back again this year. For every piece perfected in the Christmas Challenge, Piano Marvel will donate 1 penny towards this great cause. With over 133,000 pieces already perfected this year, we are on track to exceed the $1,600 raised last year!

Please help us harness the collective strength of the Piano Marvel Community by joining us this Saturday, December 9, at 9:00 a.m Mountain Time, for a Piano Marvel Play Party. Through the magic of Zoom, we will come together to play and perfect as many Christmas pieces in the Piano Marvel library as we can, to earn money for these deserving children in Haiti and Mexico.
As we come together, we can inspire each other, create impactful change, and be a force for good that can help to transform lives and uplift those who need it most. We appreciate each and every one of you and hope to see you on Saturday!

Lessons Challenge Was Biggest Challenge Yet!
As a community, you all perfected 390,671 lessons in Method and Technique during the Lessons Challenge! That is a new record! 4 Individuals passed off every lesson in Method and Technique, which is an enormous feat! The Studio Division also hit an all-time high of 233,832 Golden Tickets while Joshua H and Mark E's Studios battled it out. Thank you for participating! Helping Children in Mexico & Haiti Through Hymns
We are excited to announce the winners of the Hymns Challenge. We think you're AMAZING! As a community, you earned 50,088 Golden Tickets. Thank you for participating in this Giving Challenge to benefit children in Mexico and Haiti. Congratulations to everyone who participated and improved your sight-reading in the process! ITIAH Angels for Learning and Pathways to English each received donations for children in the Elementary School and the orphanage they serve in Haiti. Club Vallarta in Mexico received funds to help with their after-school music program. They each received $167.00. Piano Marvel Highlighted In Google Annual Economic Impact Report
PIANO MARVEL HIGHLIGHTED IN GOOGLE’S ANNUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT FOR COLORADO
Rye -- Today, Piano Marvel announced that it was highlighted in Google’s thirteenth annual Economic Impact Report - a report that showcases how businesses, publishers and nonprofits across the United States are using Google search and advertising tools to connect with the people and communities they serve. This year, small businesses generated $11.16 billion in economic activity in Colorado. By using Google products businesses increased their online presence and were able to continue connecting with customers in 2022.
“People and businesses across the US are using technology to build resilience and make their communities and economies stronger. We’re proud that Google’s products and platforms are a part of that, providing more than $700 billion in economic activity for millions of American businesses, nonprofits, creators, and developers in 2022,” said Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet. “Google only succeeds when others do, and we’ll continue to build the tools and technologies that help grow the economic pie, and create more opportunities for everyone,” says Sundar Pichai.
After using Google’s tools and services Piano Marvel saw significant results:
- Today, Piano Marvel has grown into a thriving business, with over 17,000 active subscribers with a premium account and over 310,000 free trial accounts.
- Piano Marvel uses Google Analytics to track growth trends and traffic to the Piano Marvel website from all over the globe.
- YouTube is where Piano Marvel team members share instructional videos and interviews, and performances with each other and the over 6,000 people who subscribe to the company’s channel.
Google was attractive because they offer free tools, and now we’ve stayed with Google Workspace because it works so well for us.

Piano Marvel is one of many American businesses that used the internet to connect with customers in 2022. According to research conducted by The Data Catalyst Institute (DCI), in partnership with the Connected Commerce Council from November 28th to December 12th, 2022, 90% of U.S.-based small business leaders noted that digital tools are helping them engage new customers, and 75% of SMB leaders agree that digital tools will continue to help their business navigate tough economic conditions in 2023.

2021 Hymns Challenge Winners Announced

Aaron interviewed Brock Chart, a Jazz pianist and composer about his books, "Five-Finger Jazz." They are being featured during the first-ever Piano Marvel Jazzy July Challenge. Get Ready! It's time for the annual Piano Marvel Patriotic Challenge. Join us as we celebrate the world's great nations and show our patriotism by playing patriotic songs for chances to win fun prizes from June 14th-July 4th. Most of our patriotic music is from the United States, but we are adding as many as we can from other countries. If you have a special request, please email us at [email protected], and we will do our best to find it and include it in the Piano Marvel app. All the members of the Piano Marvel Family are encouraged to pass off as many patriotic songs as you can from June 14 to July 4th! Practice Minutes Challenge
We are so excited for the Practice Minutes Challenge running through all of May 2021. We have set a goal for the entire Piano Marvel Family to hit 1 Million practice minutes in Piano Marvel this month. Anyone who practices for 100 minutes will be entered into a drawing to win an Oculus Quest 2. For every additional 100 practice minutes played, you will receive an additional entry into the drawing! We will also be giving away 5 Practice Minutes Challenge t-shirts!
Earning practice minutes is easy. Log in to your Piano Marvel account, find a song you want to play, and use either the Prepare or Assess feature of Piano Marvel to begin counting your playtime. Your playtime is counted as long as the blue cursor is moving. We recommend you try the new Sight-Reading Samurai located in the music library. Congratulations to everyone who participated and to those who won some fun prizes! We gave 2 studio prizes, one for the studio with the most entries and one random drawing for all of the studios that made it into the 100 club. Each studio who made it into the 100 club had one entry into the drawing. For any studio that made the 200 club, they received 2 entries into the drawing as so forth.
We also gave a prize to the top individual and 3 prizes in the random individual drawings. Anyone who gets at least one entry into the challenge gets one entry into the drawing. Those who make the 10 club get another entry, while those who make the 20 club have 3 total entries. This process continues for the 30, 40,50, 100,200, and 300 club. Each entry is placed in a spreadsheet and has its own entry number. Then the winners are selected from all of the entries by a random number picker. 10-year-old Eliana "Ellie" Arieli composed her first song and shared it with us. She calls it "Halloween Song." We were so impressed we put Eliana’s song into the Piano Marvel Halloween challenge, and now thousands of people will be able to play her song. Kudos to her piano teacher, Julie Liu, as this started out as an assignment she was given to write a song and upload it to Piano Marvel. 2020 Patriotic Challenge
You heard it right! This is Piano Marvel's very first Patriotich Challenge and it is going great! Learn patriotic songs to play from now until the 4th of July. We have added many patriotic songs to Piano Marvel ranging from early beginner to advanced, many of which are new from FJH Publishing Company. There are some songs from public domain as well, which means that everyone, including those with free accounts can access music to play for this challenge. We have also added many anthems from Countries around the world and will continue to add more. If you have a suggested piece please email us at [email protected]. Annual Piano Marvel YouTube Competition
The Annual Piano Marvel YouTube Competition could be the perfect thing to get you and your students motivated to practice your favorite songs and record yourself performing them to share with your friends and family! We have differnt age divisions as well as a composition and ensemble division. We are excited to announce our newest addition, the Free Form Division! For this division we are looking for mastered audio and visual along with some creativity. Don't worry we know most of you are amateurs, so have fun with it! This is your chance to record that music video you've only imagined! Adults are also welcome to enter the Free Form Division. There are cash prizes for each division along with an iPad drawing that all entrants will be entered in. The main thing is to have fun and make memories that will be immortalized on YouTube!
